Uttar Pradeshies In Canada
UPICA ( Uttar Pradeshies In Canada ) (यूपिका) is an organization federally incorporated under the “Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act”. UPICA has Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
The MoU focuses on assisting people from UP to seek education and employment opportunities in Canada, benefiting both countries, India, and Canada, and leading to more prepared immigrants, who will be more productive in Canada as they have all the tools necessary to start their new lives in Canada. The MoU also ensures collaboration between the Government of UP and Canada through conferences and other events.
UPICA (Uttar Pradeshies In Canada) is an organization with a mission of uniting people who are from the state of Uttar Pradesh in India and living in Canada. It also preserves its culture and traditions and passes them to the next generation.
UPICA provides opportunities for the Indo-Canadians whose roots are from Uttar Pradesh in India, to share their unique cultural experiences. It organizes and participates in a variety of social and cultural events throughout the year, to promote the cultural heritage and diversity of Uttar Pradesh. It serves as a platform to foster goodwill between India and Canada.
- It also serves the community by sharing knowledge and resources with newcomers who come from UP to Canada, to help them to adapt and get accustomed to the lifestyle in Canada. To make them comfortable by engaging them into the already existing UPICA community.
- Providing youth from UP, on student VISA with career counseling, job hunting and settlement by the experience of already existing UPICA community.
- Help the underprivileged living in Uttar Pradesh for their welfare, growth and a bright future ahead.
- Building a liaison between the state of Uttar Pradesh and Canada through arts, crafts, and cultural exchange.

- Promote, safeguard, and enhance the cultural legacy of individuals of Uttar Pradesh descent residing in Canada.
- Forge connections with akin cultural entities and collaborate with diverse ethnic and multicultural communities in Canada in cultural and social pursuits.
- Coordinate, champion, and support Uttar Pradesh cultural, educational, leisure, musical, literary, and sports affairs, festivals, spectacles, and conventions to further the goals of UPICA.
We highly value diversity among our members and are dedicated to fostering an inclusive work environment that respects and celebrates our members’ diverse backgrounds and experiences.
We also aim to support the integration of Uttar Pradesh immigrants into Canadian society, promote entrepreneurship skills, and facilitate professional development through networking. Additionally, we organize and sponsor cultural and educational events, as well as raise funds for various charitable causes.
By blending Canadian and Uttar Pradesh cultures through various events such as Canada Day, Family Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, Victoria Day, Remembrance Day, and more, we aim to foster cultural exchange and social interaction.
Our mission includes promoting Uttar Pradesh literature and language, fostering harmony between traditions, hosting cultural and religious celebrations to preserve Uttar Pradesh history and heritage, and organizing events like Holi, Gangaur, Teej, and Diwali to celebrate Uttar Pradesh culture and values.
